SbS Fantasy League: Week 5 Results

During the 2014 NFL season, SbS Football is simulating a fantasy football league in which the teams are based on the hometown states of current NFL players.  For more information on the league, including how the teams were developed, league rules and the weekly schedule, please see our Season Preview.

Week 5 Results
Game 1: Georgia / SC defeated Mid-Atlantic (111.5 - 70.5)
Analysis: Despite limited production from Calvin Johnson (0.7 points), the Georgia / SC team put up its highest point total of the season; Russell Wilson (34.3 points) accounted for nearly half of Mid-Atlantic's total points.

Game 2: Ohio River Valley defeated Northeast (72.0 - 65.6)

Analysis: The Ohio River Valley team earned its first victory of the season behind Golden Tate's best game of the season (19.4 points); Northeast fell to 2-3 and is the lowest scoring team in the league.

Game 3: California defeated Texas (96.3 - 70.0)
Analysis: California got 46.9 total points from its RBs (Arian Foster and Marshawn Lynch) and remains the highest scoring team in the league; meanwhile, Texas only got 12.8 points from its RBs (Jamaal Charles and Chris Ivory) and is 1-4.

Game 4: Gulf Region defeated Midwest (128.1 - 92.2)
Analysis: The Gulf Region is now the only undefeated team in the league thanks to huge games from Peyton Manning, Matt Forte and Eddie Lacy; the Midwest team has lost three in a row and is now 2-3.

Game 5: West defeated Florida (75.3 - 46.3)
Analysis: DeMarco Murray (19.2 points) continues to be a fantasy stud and the West team is now 3-2; Florida suffered its first loss of the year as its Kicker (Cody Parkey) was the only player to score in double-digits.
