SEC - 2016 Rosters by Hometown State

The SEC is the only Power 5 conference with at least 100 players from seven different states (in order by most players: Georgia, Florida, Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee).  Every team in the conference has at least two players from Florida, with half of the teams having at least ten players from the Sunshine State.
  • Alabama has more states (28) represented on its roster than any other team in the SEC. All six QB’s for the Tide are from west of the Mississippi River, including Jalen Hurts (Channelview, TX).

  • Arkansas has 45 of the 53 players in the SEC from the state of Arkansas on its roster. The Razorback’s starting QB Austin Allen (Fayetteville, AR) is one of three QB’s from the home state.

  • Auburn has the most players in the SEC from Alabama (42) and the 2nd most from both Georgia (39) and Florida (21). One of the Florida natives for the Tigers includes QB Sean White (Boca Raton, FL).

  • Florida is the only team in the SEC without a single player from the state of Tennessee. The Gators have four QB’s on their roster from the home state, including Luke Del Rio (Santa Rosa Beach, FL).

  • Georgia is only team in the SEC without a player from either Alabama or Texas. QB Jacob Eason (Lake Stevens, WA) is one of only two players in the conference from the state of Washington.

  • Kentucky has by far the most players (33) in the conference from the state of Ohio. The Wildcats only player from California is starting QB Stephen Johnson (Rancho Cucamonga, CA).

  • LSU has 77 players on its roster from Louisiana. All eleven RB’s for the Tigers are from the home state, including star Leonard Fournette (New Orleans) and top back-up Derrius Guice (Baton Rouge).

  • Mississippi State has the least amount of states (11) represented on its roster in the SEC. Starting QB Nick Fitzgerald (Richmond Hill, GA) is one of seven Bulldogs from the state of Georgia.

  • Missouri is one of only two teams in the SEC without a player from the state of Alabama. Starting QB Drew Lock (Lee’s Summit, MO) is the only Tiger QB on the roster from the state of Missouri.

  • Ole Miss is home to three of the four players in the SEC from the state of New York, including QB Chad Kelly (Buffalo, NY). All five QB’s for the Runnin Rebels’ are from outside of Mississippi.

  • South Carolina is one of only three teams in the SEC without a single player from the state of Mississippi. The Gamecocks’ have 17 players from Florida, including QB Perry Orth (Ponte Vedra, FL).

  • Tennessee has only two players from Texas, one from Alabama and none from Louisiana or Mississippi. The Vols have 23 players on their roster from Georgia, including QB Josh Dobbs (Alpharetta, GA).

  • Texas A&M is the only team in the SEC without a single player from the state of Georgia. All seven QB’s on the Aggie’s roster are from Texas, including starting QB Trevor Knight (San Antonio, TX).

  • Vanderbilt has more players from California (11) on its roster than any team in the SEC. The Commodores have only 18 players from Tennessee, the least amount of home state players in the conference.
